What Was The Greatest ’90s Boy Band?

The ’90s were a glorious decade. We had fuzzy tube tops, we had the Spice Girls, and — most importantly — we had boy bands.

There’s a longstanding debate over which ’90s boy band was the absolute best. I’ll always be a die-hard *NSYNC fan…but which boy band was your favorite? Comment and let us know!

The Backstreet Boys basically invented the term “boy band.”

The group was formed way back in 1993 and consisted of AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell.

The best thing about Backstreet Boys was obviously Nick.

If you didn’t have a crush on Nick Carter in the ’90s, you were obviously living under a rock. I mean, just LOOK at that face!

In 1995, the Backstreet Boys gained some competition.

*NSYNC consisted of Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and of course, Justin Timberlake. Speaking of Justin, can we just reflect on his Mr. Noodles hair?

If we’re being honest, *NSYNC quickly became more popular than Backstreet Boys.

Obviously, it’s because their music videos consisted of scenes like this. Who wouldn’t love seeing five cute boys dance like puppets on strings?!

In 1997, 98 Degrees made its debut with their first album.

The band consisted of Nick and Drew Lachey, Justin Jeffre, and Jeff Timmons. Although I don’t really remember their music, I definitely remember the Lachey brothers.
