26-year-old John Atkinson has been named at the third fatal victim of last night’s Manchester terror attack.
Tributes are being paid to the Bury man on social media and his friends and family have described him as an ‘amazing young man’ and ‘a beautiful soul’.
John is the third victim of the disgusting suicide bomb plot at Ariana Grande’s Manchester Arena concert last night.
Eight-year-old Saffie Rose Roussos and 18-year-old Georgina Callander are the other victims who were tragically killed in this appalling attack.
The cowardly attack left at least 22 people dead, many of them under 18-years-old, and over 50 injured when the bomb went off as crowds began to leave an Ariana Grande concert at the arena.
Police know the identity of the suicide bomb and confirmed the attack was carried out by a male carrying an improvised explosive device which he detonated, killing himself and many others.
Tributes have been pouring in all over the world for the young victims, and Manchester is in mourning after it has suffered it’s ‘worst attack since World War 2’.
Footage from the scene of the attack shows concert-goers covered in blood and fleeing in horror moments after the suicide bombing took place. Police have confirmed the perpetrator died at the scene.
Bomb disposal units were called to Manchester Arena and the surrounding vicinity, along with riot police and a fleet of emergency service vehicles, who treated those injured.
Police are encouraging anyone with footage from the scene to upload it at ukpoliceimageappeal.co.uk or ukpoliceimageappeal.com. Other information can be reported to the anti-terrorist hotline on 0800 789 321.
